Hoshi no Koe or Voices of a Distant Star was written, directed and produced entirely by Makoto on his Mac and released in 2002. Believe it or not, the only thing he didn't do on his own was the music (it's by Tenmon) and the voice dub.

This one is called "She and Her Cat" and it's directed by Makoto Shinkai. I can say I'm a fan of his work... it's "slice of life" mixed with other genres.
