Big time festival and Life updates :)

The last few months have been pretty busy for me - defending my MA thesis, getting a driving license, dropped by to Slovakia for the "Golden Beggar" festival, and not to mention changing my marital status, moving to Poland with my beloved wife Ania and getting ready to become a happy father :)

So it is understandable why I didn't spare the time to update the blog regularly... To make up I decided just to list all the festival selections, nominations and awards so far :)

Festival Updates - Rutger Hauer likes Your Head!

My short film "Where Is Your Head" has been selected for the ''I've Seen Films'' Internet Contest: www.icfilms.org/eng/contest.asp

"Where Is Your Head" is now competing for the two internet awards: the Internet Audience ICFILMS Award and the prestigious ''20th Century Fox H. E.'' Internet Jury ICFILMS Award.

The short film determined to be the most successful by the Internet Audience, will be screened during the I’ve Seen Films Festival’s days and his/her author will be personally awarded by Rutger Hauer with the Internet Audience ICFILMS Award.

Festival Updates - Your head goes to Paris!

"Where Is Your Head" is in the official selection of the first SEE a Paris South-East European Film Festival which will be held from the 12th to the 17th of April this year, in the prestigious “L’Entrepot” in Paris. This festival is going to be an unique opportunity for the audience to watch the finest selection of feature, short, animated and documentary films from the twelve SEE countries.

Festival Updates - Tomatoes Eat an award!

My short film "Tomatoes Eat You!" recieved the 3rd Prize by the judging panel of the PERL Film Competition – “Sustainable Living”! The film was shown during the PERL International Conference hold in Istanbul. It will be shown again in Cologne in May during the International Conference of CSCP (Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production).

And more good news!
Right after it got the 3rd Documentary Award at the Boomtown Festival, "99% Rust" is now selected to be shown at the IV International Festival ECOZINE, that will take place is Zaragoza, Spain, from 13th to 21st May 2011!


Just a reminder, "99% Rust" is also in the Green Program of the 13th Mecal International Short Film Festival which will take place from 8th to 17th April of 2011 in Barcelona, so if you're in Spain you can choose where to see it ;-)

Samurai Jack - Behind the Scenes

I offer you a bunch of DVD bonus features of Samurai Jack, an awesome animated show by Gendy Tartakovsky. Unfortunately the story was never finished. Gendy's latest project, Sym-Bionic Titan, is one of the best shows currently on air and definitely worth watching, but still I consider Samurai Jack an unsurpassed masterpiece. Festival Updates - "99% Rust" gets an award!

My environmental short "99% Rust" won 3rd place in the Documentary Category at the Boomtown Film and Music Festival in Beaumont, Texas!

After several selections and nominations, this is my very fisrt festival award ever! :) I hope that more will follow soon!

So far the film has been shown at the following other festivals:

Riese: Kingdom Falling

Riese: Kingdom Falling is a science fiction-fantasy series which debuted online on November 2, 2009. The series is about a traveller named Riese, a wanderer, who flees across the wartorn lands of Eleysia with her wolf, Fenrir. Hunted by a terrifying religious group, The Sect, Riese must evade the assassins that have been sent to kill her and discover their true objective.

За първи път тази година орчанизаторите на София Филм Фест и наградата Jameson правят подбор от 10 филма, невлезнали в състезателната програма на фестививала. Така се ражда допълнителна програма Jameson +, която ще бъде показана в два от фесттивалните дни.

"99% Rust" was selected for the Green Program of the 13th Mecal International Short Film Festival which will take place from 8th to 17th April of 2011 in Barcelona.

A continuation of the last Festival Updates entry!

Here is the "Where Is Your Head" page at the Puteaux short-film FEST'ival. It's going to be screened on Saturday, March 26 at the 13h-15h Block.

"Where Is Your Head" was among the 130 selected out of more than 700 submitted films at the FiLUMS Festival, and it was among the 6 nominees for the Best International Short Award!

And here is the "Where Is Your Head" page at the Boomtown Film and Music Festival! The film is selected to open the International Showcase programme - Friday, February 25th, 7pm!

And in the end, here is what I got from the Loch Ness Film Festival: "We just watched your short films and enjoyed your film A circle for Two , excellent drama and well acted and would like to screen this short film at the festival in May" :)

Jack and the Beanstalk - Jack to Mame no Ki (1989)

A little-known adaptation of "Jack and the Beanstalk", directed by Morimoto Kouji and produced at Studio 4°C in 1989 for the collection "Anime Video Art Collection", a series of animated shorts based on stories for children. Released only on VHS.

"Where Is Your Head" was recently selected at several international film festivals :)

BOOMTOWN Film and Music Festival, Beaumont, Texas. Where is Your Head is scheduled to be played on 02/25/11 at the 07:00:00 PM block, but be sure to check the fest site for updates and schedules.

1st edition of the Puteaux short-film FEST'ival which will be held on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th March 2011 at Cinema Le Central, 131 rue de la République, 92800 Puteaux, France.

"Where Is Your Head" has also been shortlisted for screening at the 5th annual international LUMS film festival - FiLUMS 2011, which will take place at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan from 11th February to 13th February, 2011. The film will be screened at the festival and will compete with other shortlisted films for the FiLUMS awards.

Festival Updates

I'm getting some good news this season :)

"Where Is Your Head" is going to the finals of LE TROTTOIR IN CORTO 2010 - Quinta edizione in Milano. It will be screened again at the Grand Gala with the rest of the finalists, on 19th December.
