I accidentally found it about a week ago while browsing on the net. It's called "Ivor the Engine" and it was aired in the UK some decades ago. I've never watched it but I got my hands on the first episode and I fell in love with this cartoon. It's warm, colorful and nostalgic. Reading info about it I found several similar shows from that time, that have cult status in Britain.
